Five Apps To Up Your Instagram Game

IMG_8491_edited.jpg

Instagram started out as a way to share pictures of a fun day out with your friends and family. Since then it has become an amazing platform to express creativity, photography, and for businesses to connect with their customers. Whatever you use Instagram for, I think we can all agree it is hard to get tired of seeing all of the beautiful photographs from people all around the world. So if you are looking to up your Instagram game, but don’t know where to start, keep on reading for five of my favorite app recommendations that I use to help me over on the gram.

This post is not sponsored by any of these apps, they are ones I have genuinely been using for quite a while, and recommend to you on my own terms.

1. Lightroom Mobile

Lightroom Mobile is the best app to use for Instagram photo editing, and the best thing about it is, it’s free! If you don’t want to have to pay for Lightroom CC from Adobe on your computer, but still want to test it out and use it to edit your Instagram pictures, you can get the app for free from the app store. What I love about this app is how easy it is to use. If you are unfamiliar, you can use it to do everything from brightening, adding contrast, changing color saturation, hue, and so much more. It is a great way to take a dull photo and make it just a bit more fun. It is also the secret to my Instagram page looking as though all of the images go together. The best thing about Lightroom is that you can save all of the edits you make to a photo as a preset, which means you can basically copy the edits you make to one image, and paste it onto another, and then adjust accordingly. This will make all of your images have a similar feeling, and can help make your grid a little more cohesive.

2. PicMonkey

The next few apps are for using on your Instagram stories. People are really starting to up their game when it comes to their stories, and these apps will all make it so easy to up yours as well. This first one is called PicMonkey. This one is kind of like photoshop for your phone. You can edit out backgrounds, add cool text, and so much more. I don’t use this one all of the time because I could get sucked into editing my stuff for hours, and usually for my stories I like to keep it simple, but this is a great one if you really want to go the extra mile with your stories.

3. Unfold

Unfold is a great app to get started with making your stories more uniform. They have nice templates to add boarders around your photos, and some nice font choices to write captions in. It also allows you to edit your photos in the app. You can also buy some other types of templates like photographs and ripped paper if you enjoy using the app to edit your stories and want to get more of its features. It is definitely a good one to start playing around in, as it does offer some great free choices to help improve the look of your stories.

4. Storyluxe

If you want a similar app to Unfold, but with some more free choices, then Storyluxe is also a great option. They offer very similar options to Unfold, but you can also change the background behind your templates, and they offer a few more choices for free than Unfold. It is a very user friendly app with so many editing features to make your stories look fun and elegant.

5. Unum

This final app is more of a planning app than one to edit your images with. Unum is great because it allows you to preview what an image will look like on your feed before you post it. This way if it doesn’t look just right, you can go back and fix it before posting. The app also allows you to schedule reminders if you like to post at certain times, and allows you to look at certain analytics for your page. You can see what your follower demographic is, what times your followers are on the app most, and so much more. This is one of my most used apps when it comes to Instagram, because I love being able to plan and coordinate colors and images. I highly recommend it if you want your feed to start to have a uniform look.

So there you have it! Five apps I use to up my Instagram game. If you enjoyed this post and would like to see more like it, then make sure to give it a like and let me know in the comments.
